Big Bus Tours of Dubai

Double decker open top buses travel around Dubai with tourists on the top deck sitting high enough to peer over the villa walls in Jumeirah and Umm Suqeim. During the summer, the heat is hellish but some buses have airconditioned sections in the front of the upper deck. As of October 2011 there are two companies operating similar double decker bus tours of Dubai - the Big Bus Dubai company, and EasyTour Dubai (new in October 2011). Information below is mostly for Big Bus Dubai (see end of page for Easy Tour details).

• Ticket is valid all day for hop-on-hop-off at any stop
• Buses depart every 20-30 minutes?
• Ticket prices (24 hour validity) AED 220 for adults, AED 100 for children (as of January 2012).

• Two hour tour of Dubai in the evenings to view some of the sights and traffic jams.

• Renaissance Dubai Hotel and Big Bus Tour Dubai packages - room plus bus tour for family 2 adults 2 children (announced 03 September 2009, validity period unknown).

Big Bus Dubai tours for Dubai Airport transit passengers (May 2010 information)s

• Big Bus will operate tours of Dubai departing from and returning to Dubai International Airport for transit passengers.
• Tour duration about 2 hours. Actual departure times or minimum time between flights not supplied in press release 12 May 2010.
• Tours expected to start from Summer 2010.
• No special visa arrangements available, only passengers who can normally exit the airport on a Dubai transit visa will be able to sign up for the tour.

EasyTour Dubai

• Easytour (Easy Tour) - new in October 2011? Appears to be similar to the Big Bus Tour of Dubai (but cheaper).
• Adults AED 140, children AED 70 for 24 hours hop on hop off in 2011-2012. Tel +971-4-3311399 (Sunday to Thursday from 0800-1700), email info@easytour.ae.
• Start and finish at the Burjuman Mall. Start times are 0900 and 1430 daily (as of January 2012).
• Logo, name, and design appear to be related to the UK based EasyJet company (but we're not sure if the Dubai and UK companies are related).
• Not quite the same hop-on hop-off system as the Big Bus Dubai tour. EasyTour buses stop for 30-40 minutes at each tourist sight and wait - great if you want that time to look and take photos, not if you don't.
