• First Choithrams supermarket opened in the UAE in 1974.

Number of Choithrams stores in the UAE and Middle East

• 14 Nov 2013 (WAM) - 30 stores in the UAE, over 48 stores in the GCC region, another 32 supermarkets planned.
• 10 Sep 2012 (press release) - Choithrams has 48 stores in the GCC area in Bahrain, Qatar, Oman, UAE, with 27 stores in the UAE. Plans to open another 32 stores from 2012-2014.
• Jun 2010 - there are 27 Choithrams supermarkets in the UAE, with another 19 planned (The National 19 Jun 2010).

• Abu Dhabi - Khalidiya, and The Corniche. Both open 0830-2300 seven days.
• Al Ain - Al Mada Complex, Al Muwaiji, Al Ain Mega Mart, Al Suroor Superstore. All have opening times 0830-2300 seven days.
• Ajman - Sheikh Hamad Street, opening hours 0800-1330 and 1630-2300, tel +971-6-7446730.
• Fujairah - Sheikh Humaid Street, opening hours 0900-1330 and 1630-2200, tel +971-9-2225900.
• Dubai - Al Nasr Square in Dubai Tower, Al Wasl Rd opposite Safa Park and also in Umm Suqiem 2, Bur Dubai opposite Ramada Hotel, Bur Dubai Al Fahidi Street, DIFC (opening mid-2011 (?) ... delayed until end Nov 2013, open 0700-2200 daily (?)), Green Community, Holiday Center Sheikh Zayed Road, Hyatt Galleria, Jumeirah Beach Road, The Greens, The Lakes, The Springs, The Walk at JBR - Amwaj building, Umm Suqeim on Al Wasl Road. Most are open 0800-2200, Al Wasl Road shops open from 0700, Safa Park until 0100, Dubai Tower and Ramada store open 24 hours.
• Ras Al Khaimah - Julphar Towers (open in 2014), Mina Al Arab (open 14 Nov 2013), Nakheel (timings 0800-1330 and 1630-2300, tel number +971-7-2226515).

• Amwaj Choithrams in Jumeirah Beach Residence (JBR), open June-2010? Area 3,500 sq feet.
• DEC Towers, Dubai Marina, 33,000 square feet, by end 2010?
• Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC), new store open end Nov 2013 (delayed from 2011?), has small pork section.
• Dubai Silicon Oasis, 22,000 sq ft, by end 2010?
• Jumeirah Lakes Towers, 40,000 sq ft, by end 2010?

New Choithram's stores opening in RAK

• Julfar Towers - agreement with RAK Properties announced 10 Sep 2012 (press release), store area 7064 sq feet, opening date expected Q1 2013. Delayed to end of 2013 or early 2014?
• Mina Al Arab - agreement with RAK Properties announced 10 Sep 2012 (press release), store area 8,567 sq ft, opening date expected Q1 2013. Delayed to 14 Nov 2013, area increased to 7,064 sq m (tripled from original information?), located in the Lagoons district.
