Dubai Metro Magenta Line

The Dubai Metro Magenta Line is a possible tram route, rather than light rail train, operating on the Palm Deira island to connect areas on the different islands that form the base of Palm Deira near the coast. Information based on one report in MEED Business Digest 29 August 2008 about the Dubai RTA preparations for a tender for design of the Magenta Line. No further information about plans or construction details made public since then. As progress on the Palm Deira is limited or suspended in 2009, it seems unlikely that plans for an Magenta metro line will move forward anytime soon.
