Dubai Metro Orange Line

Coronavirus in the UAE: Some information on this website is out of date as a result of measures taken in the UAE to deal with the coronavirus crisis. Confirm with official or authoritative sources.

Dubai Metro Orange Line

The Dubai Metro Orange Line is a possible route around Palm Deira, linking up with the Dubai Metro Green Line at the Al Gubaibah and Abu Hail stations. Information based on one report in MEED Business Digest 29 August 2008 about the Dubai RTA preparations for a tender for design of the Orange Line, and also a map of a possible Orange Line route on a Landmark Advisory publication. An earlier report by MEED in June 2006 said the Orange Line would be part of the Dubailand project (which is a long way from Palm Deira). No further information about plans or construction details seen. As progress on the Palm Deira is limited or suspended in 2009, it seems unlikely that plans for an Orange metro line will move forward anytime soon. A speculative completion date could be 2020.
