Emirates Identity Authority
(EIDA)
The Emirates Identity Authority (EIDA) is the United Arab Emirates (UAE) government agency responsible for issuing the Emirates Identity Card (Emirates ID Card) for Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and UAE citizens and residents.
- EIDA hotline telephone 6005-30003 (not a toll-free number). Previous Emirates Identity Authority Call Center tel 600-523432 in the UAE (not toll-free), unknown if still valid. Operating hours 0800-2000 (8am to 8pm) Saturday to Thursday.
- The Emirates Identity Authority is an independent federal body, established under Federal Law No 2 for 2004.
- EIDA was established to implement a UAE Population Register and New Emirates ID Card program for all UAE nationals and residents.

EIDA Registration Centers
- Registration Centers are open Sunday to Thursday (closed Friday and Saturday). Opening times 0730-1430 or 0730-2030 depending on location (see tables).
- Long list of Typing Centers (where Emirates ID application process starts) available on the EIDA website.
- Coffee shops are opening at EIDA centers from September 2011. The first one at the Al Barsha center in Dubai, with a target of two cafes opening every month (press release 10 September 2011).

- 22 April 2012 (Gulf News) - Emirates ID centers at medical centers include Al Baraha, Al Quoz, JAFZA, Knowledge Village, Muhaisnah, Satwa, Al Quoz, Jafza and Knowledge Village. Other Emirates ID center locations include Al Barsha, Al Rashidiya, Karama. Report also said The Muhaisnah centre was recently opened with the ability to serve up to 3,000 applicants, operating 24 hours a day.
- 16 August 2007 - Al Barsha Registration center opened. Located in Al Barsha 3 near Jebel Ali horse race course.
- 21 February 2012 (WAM) - Baraha Hospital area, new registration near the Preventative Medicine Center (PMC) open 26 February 2012.
- Muhaisnah (Muhaisna) - new center opening by mid-March 2012? As part of the PMC.

since 27 September 2011. Capacity of 2,600 applicants every
day. Facilities include coffee shop, library, mosque. Opening hours
0700-2000 (or 2030?)
