Lloyds TSB UAE has been taken over by and branches rebranded as HSBC Middle East. This page now mostly obsolete.

• Lloyds TSB Dubai main branch is on Al Wasl Road in Jumeirah, opposite Safa Park.
• As with most other foreign banks with a presence in the UAE, there are limitations on how many branches can be opened. As of July 2010, Lloyds TSB only has one branch in Dubai, none in any other emirate, and several customer service centers.
• Customer Service Centers can handle account opening applications, general enquiries, etc, but do not accept cash transactions and do not have teller services.
• Minimum 10,000 dhs for current account (increased from AED 5,000 in 2008?). Quite fussy when opening a new account - lots of questions.
• Islamic Student Account - Sharia compliant account for Muslim students launched August 2006.
• ATMs are located at the main branch and customer service centers, also at Dubai International Financial Center (DIFC).
• Lloyds TSB Dubai bank customers can use National Bank of Dubai ATMs free of charge, and other ATMs on the Switch Network for an additional charge (AED 2 per transaction in 2010).
• Bank licence awarded by the UAE Central Bank in 1977.

1. Main branch and Customer Service Centers open Saturday to Thursday, closed Fridays. Main Branch open from 0900 on Tuesdays.
   Ramadan timings (in 2010) are 0830-1400 (0900-1400 in Tuesday) for main branch in Jumeira, 0900-1500 for customer service centers.
2. Dibba, Kalba, Khorfakkan are geographically on the East Coast of the UAE but politically part of Sharjah except for Dibba which is split three ways between Fujairah, Sharjah, and Oman.

Lloyds TSB Middle East news and updates

• 30 March 2012 - HSBC Bank Middle East is buying Lloyds Banking Group (LBG) in the UAE. A statement from HSBC reportedly said "HSBC Bank Middle East ... has entered into an agreement to acquire the onshore retail and commercial banking business of Lloyds Banking Group in the United Arab Emirates. ... The value of the gross assets being acquired is $US769 million as at 31 December 2011. The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approvals, is expected to complete in 2012."
