UAE Education Guide
The UAE Education Guide, or UAE Educational Guide, is [or was - website not available] a directory book of schools, universities, and other educational institutes in Abu Dhabi, Dubai, and the UAE, published jointly by several UAE government level departments. Not to be confused with the Dubai Education Guide (DEG) website, a different and unrelated organisation.
- The guide includes public and private schools in the UAE, and international universities accredited by the UAE Ministry of Higher Education & Scientific Research (MOHESR).
- Distributed to federal and local UAE government departments, UAE embassies abroad, foreign embassies and consulates in the UAE, and maybe education fairs.
- WAM news announced the launch of the guide on 18 August 2010. Except it appears to have been available for some months before that.
- The UAE Education Guide was a joint project by the UAE MOHESR, UAE Ministry of Education, Abu Dhabi Educational Council, UAE Ministry of Social Affairs, and the National Center for Documentation & Research. Apparently using DubaiFAQs.com for the information about schools, although they didn't tell us. Still, we suppose we should find it encouraging that official authoritative bodies in the UAE think our list of schools is good enough to use as a reference for their publications.
- The UAEEG, or UEG, does not appear to have any connection to the Dubai Education Guide website (www.dubaieducationguide.com) which looks like an unofficial list of schools and nurseries in the UAE. Similar to many other directories and lists of schools lurking on the internet.
