Umm Suqeim 2 community district
Umm Suqeim 2 (Umm Suqeim Second or US Two) is a community area in the city of Dubai, part of the district of Jumeirah. Significant landmarks in US 2 include part of Umm Suqeim Beach, the Umm Suqeim Fishing Harbour, the first Starbucks drive-through coffee shop in Dubai. The suburb is mostly villas and town houses for wealthier residents of Dubai.
Geography and access

[J1] Jumeira Rd, Beach Rd, and Jumeirah Beach Rd all refer to the same road.
- Umm Suqeim 2 borders the communities of Umm Suqeim 1 and 3, and Al Manara. The NW side of US2 faces the ocean.
- Al Thanya Road runs between US2 and US3 and continues to Sheikh Zayed Rd (SZR) (the Dubai-Abu Dhabi highway exit 42). Access to join SZR is only in Abu Dhabi direction, and can only exit SZR at Al Thanya Rd when coming from Sharjah direction.
- Jumeira Road (Jumeirah Beach Rd) runs through US2 near the coast.
- Al Wasl Road runs between Umm Suqeim 2 and Al Manara communities.
- Al Manara Road runs between US1 and US2, provides access to and from Sheikh Zayed Rd in both Abu Dhabi and Sharjah directions via a cloverleaf interchange (exit 43), also Al Quoz areas on the other side of SZR.
Landmarks
Not much from a tourist or visitor perspective but there are a few interesting cafes and coffee shops to visit along Jumeirah Beach road. See Umm Suqeim 3 for information about the public beach.
- Umm Suqeim fishing harbour.
- Umm Suqeim public beach (Sunset Beach). Access from Al Thanya Rd. Very busy on Fridays and busy on Saturdays. Mostly lies in US3.
- Umm Suqeim Beach public park - faces Umm Suqeim Beach, access from Al Thanya Rd. Small park with grass and trees.
Property and real estate in Umm Suqeim 2
- Houses, townhouses, and villas - rentals available, ownership only for UAE and GCC nationals.
- [Check] Apartments - no apartment blocks in US2.
- Several gated townhouse communities.
- No expat or foreign ownership permitted of land or property.
Shopping, restaurants and cafes
Several cafes along Jumeirah Beach Rd.
- Atiq Salem Grocery - small grocery shop next to small mosque on Samari St (7B).
- Bu Qtair fish restaurant, overrated, and only mentioned here because it is so popular. We don't know why. We tried it and weren't impressed. Perhaps it's the quirkiness of sitting on plastic chairs outside in the sand that appeals to those who normally sit in plastic chairs in air-conditioned food courts. We'd rather go to one of the other cafes along Jumeirah Beach Rd where the staff are more polite. Not that the food is bad mind you, it's fresh fish and decent enough, just expensive for what it is and where you are.
- Cafe de la Dance - is a dance studio, not a place to eat and drink. On Al Wasl Road.
- Choithrams supermarket - Al Wasl Rd, just after Al Qubba St (27C Street).
- [Check] McDonalds drivethru on Jumeira Rd, Jebel Ali direction. ENOC or Eppco station?
- Starbucks drive-thru on Jumeira Rd. The first one in Dubai. Actually it's drive-around not through. Large outdoor seating area, plenty of seats inside too. If not driving through, park next to it on the sandy plot (while it exists) for free. Road side parking needs meters fed. Starbucks has parking but exit into drive-thru can be tricky.
- The Laundromat - small laundry next to small mosque on Samari St (7B).

- London Dubai Medical Clinic and Hospital - small hospital or large medical center, Jumeira Rd, ocean side.
- Umm Suqeim Medical Clinic, Jumeira Rd, ocean side opposite Al Manara Rd intersection (so half in Umm Suqeim 1).

- Al Safa Veterinary Clinic - on Al Wasl Rd, just before Al Qubba St (Street 27C) and Choithrams.
